We have no idea what addicts go through. Even if we are close to them. Even if we are one of them. It is beyond our comprehension what is happening on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. The battles that they go through and the battles that they put us through! Families are torn apart. Guilt, resentment, regret, judgment, shame, … settle in.
