Ryan Gorman
Naturalist, artist, adventurer and mineral expert, Ryan Gorman is a free-spirited crystal collector and seller. His passions for travel, rock climbing and nature led him to become interested in the study of minerals and the symbiotic relationship between Mother Earth and all who inhabit her.Early family trips to Rocky Mountain National Park, The Smoky Mountains and Grand Teton National Park helped Ryan to be able to appreciate the natural wonders & beauty of Mother Earth.
As a young man, Ryan was drawn to the mineral kingdom while traveling in California, where he spent many summers at Yosemite National Park. Being an artist & a naturalist, the mineral & crystal formations became a source of fascination and study.
In 2012, driven by a vision of creating a place of community, education and peace, Ryan collected a team of friends to help produce the first Midwest Crystal Fest, a festival of crystals, spiritual connection, music, food and fellowship. More than 1,500 people came to that first, free weekend event in St. Louis, Missouri. The goal of every Crystal Fest is to provide children and their families with opportunities to experience and learn about natural wonders as well as the traditional, indigenous uses of minerals and plants.
Ryan currently uses his artistic talents in tandem with crystals and stones with lapidary arts, gemstone faceting, wire wrapping and silversmithing. The Gorman medicine bags are prized for their quality of craftsmanship and the energy of the wrapped crystals and stones.
When he isn't off rock hounding, climbing, or gemstone prospecting, Ryan's native St. Louis is where he calls home. He offers some of his crystal finds for sale at local gem and mineral shows and sells crystals and his medicine bags through Instagram @bluefeatherminerals.
