LaKeshia Hodge is a dynamic and results-driven nonprofit leader with over two decades of experience in program development, community engagement, and organizational leadership. As the Founder and Executive Director of the Struggle of Love Foundation (SOLF) in Denver, Colorado, she has dedicated her career to serving underserved populations and empowering youth through mentorship, leadership programs, and community services.
Under LaKeshia's leadership, SOLF has grown into a leading nonprofit, serving over 1,500 youth annually through impactful programs. She has spearheaded initiatives such as the Summer of Love Camp, an 8-week program providing academic, recreational, and life skills activities for K-5 students, and after-school programs focused on leadership, STEM, and career readiness for middle and high school students. Her efforts have driven a 60% increase in program participation and earned an 85% satisfaction rate among participants.
A skilled fundraiser and strategic planner, LaKeshia has secured over $1 million annually in funding through grants, corporate partnerships, and innovative campaigns. Notable achievements include facilitating two successful "Word of Thanks" campaigns on 9News, raising over $50,000 for program expansion, and leading capital campaign efforts to purchase SOLF's first building, enhancing its service capacity and community impact.
LaKeshia is a graduate of Montbello High School, the Urban Leadership Foundation, and MiCasa Business Success, and she holds certifications in trauma-informed practices, mentor coaching, and social-emotional learning. Her commitment to professional development is further exemplified by her acceptance into the prestigious 2025 Pathways Program Cohort for nonprofit leadership.
A passionate advocate for community wellness, LaKeshia has been instrumental in passing a Denver City Council proclamation to ensure affordable youth programs for underserved communities. Her collaborations with local businesses, government agencies, and educators have expanded access to food security, mental health services, and workforce development initiatives.
Recognized for her exceptional contributions, LaKeshia has received numerous awards, including the 2024 African Chamber of Commerce Nonprofit of the Year and the 2023 BOYZ Black Excellence Award. She serves as a board member for the Racial Social Grant and is an active participant in Black philanthropy initiatives, including the Eight28 Cohort.
