Summer McBride

Summer McBride is a community health worker, educator, and policy leader dedicated to transforming how families of color experience care and belonging. She serves as Vice Chair of the First 5 LA Board of Directors, Chair of the Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services Commission, and President of the California Black Women’s Democratic Club. A certified parent educator and facilitator with Maternal Mental Health NOW, Summer bridges faith, justice, and wellness to create spaces where healing is collective and culturally grounded. Her work centers the lived wisdom of Black women, parents, and workers, those who are often most impacted but least heard in systems of care. Through advocacy, education, and love-driven leadership, she uplifts a vision of mental health that begins with community and ends in liberation.
