What happens when you intentionally step away from the noise of the world and spend an entire year alone in the woods?

In this deeply personal episode of Afterlife Café TV, I sit down with Lindsay Vandenhurk to explore her extraordinary journey through solitude, silence, healing, and self-remembrance.
Just before turning 40, Lindsay made a life-altering choice. After recognizing she was living out of alignment with her deepest truth, she ended a relationship, packed her belongings, moved back to Canada, and retreated into the woods. With no income, no vehicle, and very little external distraction, she committed herself to a year of simplicity, silence, sobriety, celibacy, and profound self-inquiry.
Her days became beautifully simple: chopping wood, tending the fire, walking in nature, and sitting with the ache of grief as layers of conditioning, people-pleasing, performance, and false identities began to fall away.

Then came the Luna Moth.

For four consecutive nights, this rare and magical visitor appeared, becoming a powerful symbol and message from Spirit: the cocooning season was ending. It was time to emerge.
What followed was not a journey of becoming someone new, but of remembering who she had always been beneath the expectations, roles, and stories she had carried for decades.

Together, we explore:
• What happens when the identities we've built our lives around begin to dissolve
• Why silence can be one of our greatest teachers
• The courage it takes to live in alignment with truth
• Rebuilding trust in intuition and inner knowing
• Nature as a guide, healer, and mirror
• The difference between performing life and fully living it
• Returning to the world after profound transformation

This conversation is for anyone who has ever felt disconnected from themselves, questioned the life they were living, or sensed there was something deeper calling them home.
