That's why when Becky Blades wrote a good-bye letter to her Harvard-bound firstborn, she began with cheap laundry scare tactics. It was all a ploy to snag her daughter's attention and slip in last minute lectures on topics like RSVP's, cell phone etiquette, budgeting and forgiveness. The tactic worked, and at her daughter's insistence, the letter became a book.
