Every day, more than 1,200 children go missing in the US (460,000 children annually). May 25th marked the 35th anniversary from when President Ronald Reagan proclaimed it “National Missing Children’s Day,” to remember children who have gone missing, and those who have been found. We know that the chances of finding a missing child increase when more people are on the lookout - especially in the first few hours. That’s why in January 2015, Facebook launched an AMBER Alerts Program in partnership with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. Since the program launched, there have been more than 900 AMBER Alerts issued on Facebook globally.
