Andrea Meyer - Executive Director, Center for Success
Andrea Meyer has been a dedicated leader in education and youth development since 2005. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Center for Success Network (CFSN), a nonprofit committed to empowering students and families through literacy, mentorship, and community-centered out-of-school-time programming.
Andrea joined the organization in 2015 and has played a central role in building and expanding its programming, partnerships, and impact across Metro Detroit. Under her leadership, CFSN has grown into a nationally recognized literacy mentoring model that pairs trained volunteers with students to improve reading proficiency, confidence, and long-term academic success. The organization’s programs serve hundreds of students annually and have demonstrated measurable gains in literacy and student engagement.
Prior to her nonprofit leadership, Andrea spent ten years as a classroom teacher, an experience that deeply informs her commitment to equitable literacy instruction and individualized student support. She holds certifications in Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction (EBLI) and English Language Development (ELD), which guide the instructional frameworks used across CFSN programs.
As Executive Director, Andrea leads organizational strategy, program development, staff leadership, and external partnerships while overseeing donor engagement, grant development, and financial stewardship. Her work centers on building collaborative systems that unite educators, families, mentors, and community partners around the shared goal of literacy access and educational opportunity.
Andrea is actively involved in statewide and national conversations about youth development and out-of-school-time learning. She serves on multiple advisory and leadership groups including the Youth Development Resource Center Steering Committee, Michigan Afterschool Network Partner Council, and Skillman Foundation OST Evaluation Advisory Group.
She is also an alumna of the Gratitude Network Global Fellowship, a leadership program supporting social impact leaders scaling organizations that serve children and youth worldwide.
In recognition of her leadership and contributions to the field, Andrea was named the 2026 Michigan Afterschool Excellence Award recipient for the Mary Sutton Leadership Award, honoring individuals who demonstrate outstanding leadership and impact in out-of-school-time programs.
Andrea earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Western Michigan University through the university’s Urban Education program.
Outside of her professional work, Andrea considers her most important role to be mom to three amazing kids, who continually inspire her commitment to creating brighter futures for all children.
