Amy Zell
Amy Zell is the founder and executive director of Grief & Loss In Motion, a nonprofit organization based in the Mahoning Valley that provides compassionate support for individuals and families experiencing suicide loss and other traumatic grief.
After the death of her son, Tyler, Amy transformed her personal grief into a mission to ensure that no one faces loss alone. Through her work, she has helped develop community-based postvention services, including the Trumbull County LOSS Team, which responds alongside the coroner’s office to provide immediate support to families at the scene of a suicide loss.
Amy is also the creator of the Maker Empowerment Method, a hands-on approach that uses creativity, design thinking, and maker activities to help individuals process grief, build resilience, and reconnect with purpose. Amy's Maker grief programming allows individuals who are not comfortable in a support group setting to communicate their grief and work on integrating it while creating in our makerspace. Through these workshops, support groups, and community partnerships across Ohio’s Mahoning Valley, Amy works to transform grief into connection, meaning, and hope.
