The Paradox of the Second Marriage
On this episode, Jacqueline and I are going to explore what we call the paradox of second marriages. This is both of our second marriages and lost in our own joyful experience we were deeply surprised to learn that the divorce rate for second marriages is 20% higher than first marriages.
Now that probably shouldn’t have surprised us given that a second marriage is two people that both catastrophically failed in the first, but it did! Now the paradox is that overall level of happiness in a second marriage is higher than a first marriage so there seems to be a huge gift for those who figure it out. Why is there this paradox. What is behind it? Why do 70% of second marriages fail? Why do 30% find this new gear of happiness? All of this and much more in the next ho
ur.
