Athena: A Goddess of Wisdom For Our Time

The Greek Goddess Athena, also known as the Goddess of Wisdom, is often maligned because her myth relays that She was born from Her father's head rather than Her mother's womb. When we peel back the patriarchal layers of this tale, we begin to notice some discrepancies which will clue us into how Athena, like many strong women, is often considered a traitor to her sex. We will investigate the nature of androgyny, and discover how Athena models courage, intuition, authority, and strength; the principals of feminine leadership profoundly needed in our present times. We will discover that the archetype of Athena is fair, tough, wise and protective and is alive in every woman.
