Dawn Dickson on End-of-Life Midwifery and the Sacred Art of Dying and Emily Dykstra & Cathy Sims on a Fiber Art Journey to the Heart.

Dawn Dickson will share how women have been active participants at birth and death for centuries, yet we often experience disconnection and spiritual impoverishment when faced with death. In this workshop we will reclaim our place as midwives to the dying. Rituals and exercises throughout the presentation will offer examples for end of life care. Emily Dykstra and Cathy Sims offer a unique opportunity exploring the layers of our lives through fiber-art, yoga and song. They fuse together layers of fiber fabric, yarn, found objects and mementos to build a vibrant expression of your hearts desires and your true self. Using this multi-media approach allows for a tactile experience of ripping, shredding, moving, singing and cherishing the precious, giving a deeper understanding of who they are in this world.
